Kuşadası Belediyesi, Women’s Handicrafts Festival was held to sell handmade products of women to contribute to the household economy and opened stands with the slogan ‘Labor from you, support from us’ under Atatürk statue, visited by Mayor Ömer Günel, “We are always beside the hardworking women of Kuşadası,” he said.In the 5 years he has been in office at Kuşadası Municipality, Mayor Ömer Günel has signed projects that are exemplary for Turkey in the field of social municipality. In this context, considering the deteriorating economic conditions of Turkey, Mayor Ömer Günel started the ‘Handicraft Festival’ in front of Atatürk statue to sell the handmade products of Kuşadası women and contribute to the household economy. The festival, which will last until April 30, includes many products ranging from jewelry to home furnishings, textiles, accessories and souvenirs. Stands, open on Saturdays and Sundays, can be visited between 11.00 am and 6.00 pm.Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel visited the stands together with his wife Duygu Gül Günel. Mayor Ömer Günel, who wish good business to productive women of Kuşadası and shopped, said, “We are always beside the hardworking women of Kuşadası. As Kuşadası Municipality, we are trying to support everyone living in our city in difficult economic conditions in Turkey. Be sure to visit our festival where you can buy beautiful handmade products.”The Handicraft Festival, which was initiated by Mayor Ömer Günel attracted great attention from the people of Kuşadası and local and foreign tourists visiting the city. Sevda Yeşil, who came from Izmir to Kuşadası for a weekend holiday, said, “It’s a great festival. I am very happy that Kuşadası Municipality supports women with such a project.”Münire Sandelen, who opened a stand at the festival, said, “I produce many jewelry at home throughout the year. I have been living in Kuşadası for years. But for the first time, I witnessed such a big project that helped Kuşadası women to contribute to the household economy.”
